Monday September 14, 2009:
- S.A.I.L will hold its kick-off program titled, "Everything You Need to Know About S.A.I.L." Whether you want a refresher course on the requirements for SAIL OR if you want to learn all the details about becoming involved in the SAIL program, this is the program you won't want to miss!! Wednesday September 16, 2009:
- A SAIL Program titled, "Team Building & Motviation", will be held to teach students how to bring your team together and motivate them to do great things! It will be held in Sykes Student Union, Room 254, from 6:30-7:30pm.

Wednesday September 23, 2009:
-"Make Your Involvement Count - Start your Co-Curricular Portfolio Today" will inform students about the Co-Curricular Portfolio and how it features your extracurricular activities from all four years! The "CCP" serves as an official document to accompany your resume when going for an interview! Learn how to start your CCP today and how it will benefit you! Sykes Student Union, Room 254, 11am-12pm.

-"Treasurer Training Seminar" SGA will be holding this Treasurer Training Seminar to show treasurers how to get money! Sykes Student Union, Room 257, 3-4pm.

Monday September 28, 2009:
- Come and see what Sykes has to over you!! Attend "How to Utilize Sykes for Your Student Organization & Meeting Needs". Attend this program to learn: about running meetings in Sykes, space reservations, how to reserve technology, a table, and display case, and how to use the copy center to benefit your student organization! Sykes Student Union, Room 254, 6-7pm.

Tuesday September 29, 2009:
- "How to Create & Maintain a Budget for your Student Organization" will feature everything your student organization needs to know about your funds! This is a worthwhile event for every Treasurer to attend or even responsbile members who are interested in financial success for the future. Sykes Student Union, Room 251, 6-7pm.

Thursday October 1, 2009:
- Now that you have members it's important to "Keep Members Involved and Motivated". This SAIL workshop will teach students the importance of keeping your members involved for the right reasons and figuring out exactly what motivates them. Students are interested in the organizations that are giving them opportunities and ways to grow so make sure you're offering them what they want! Sykes Student Union, Room 209, 2-3pm.

Monday October 5, 2009:
- Running a meeting properly is important when trying to make your meeting time a productive one. Attend "Parliamentary Procedure" to learn how to use Robert's Rules of Order and to make your meeting times more productive! Sykes Student Union, Room 209, 10-11am.

Monday October 19, 2009:
- "Keeping Members Involved and Motivated". This popular program teaches student organizations how to keep your members involved in what you are doing. Figure out what motivates them and use that to your advantage. The members are everything to your organization so work with them to achieve your goals! Sykes Student Union, Room 254, 5-6pm.

- Being really involved can be stressful, but don't worry! We are providing you with a program, "Personal Wellness and Student Leadership", to inform you of the importance of keeping yourself well while being involved!

- Will Keim will be on campus to speak about "Ethical Leadership". This is an event that you do not want to miss! Wednesday October 28, 2009:- The Contemporary Issues Club has a great program planned. Feature speakers Kathryn Harrison and Ibrahim Hamid of the Darfur Alert will present a brief video on the Darfur Crisis, followed by their personal experiences and a presentation on ways in which the public can help promote peace and justice in Darfur. This program also includes a faculty panel and a Q&A session after the presentations. Co-sponsored by the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church and Society Commission. - "Appropriate Attire, Etiquette, and Decorum for Students in Professional Leadership Settings" will teach you all the necessities about being a professional student leader as well as prepare you for the real world!

Tuesday November 10, 2009:
- This session will stress the importance of finding a mentor and being that mentee. "Everything there is to Know about being a Mentor & Mentee" will teach students how to find their mentor and what qualities to look for. It's also important how to be a mentor when someone is looking up to you! Sykes Student Union, 254, 7-8pm.

Friday November 13, 2009:
- "Paying it Forward: Now it's Time to Lead Others" is for our seasoned leaders who have been trained in many programs. They're learning and getting involved in everything. Now it's time to give back and teach others. Whether you're deciding to become a mentor, SAIL program facilitator, or deciding to "pay it foward" in another way-- it's time to lead others! Sykes Student Union, Room 210, 2-3pm.

Tuesday November 17, 2009:
- "Conflict Resolution" is an important step in the group process. All student organizations are going to run into tough times when conflicts may arise. It's important to know what to do in those situations, as leaders, and how to overcome them. Attend "Conflict Resolution" and learn how to conquer these obstacles. Sykes Student Union, Room 209, 3:15-4:15pm.

Wednesday November 18, 2009:
- "Networking" is a SAIL workshop that will teach you everything you need to know about..yes, you've guess it... networking! Learn how to network, where to do it, and for what reasons to do it. Networking will not only help your student organization, but will transform leaders in the process!Sykes Student Union, Room 209, 10-11am.

Wednesday December 2, 2009:
- Many students on campus are full-time students, working part or full-time jobs, and are balancing co-curricular activities. This workshop titled "Time Management" will teach students how to manage their time between all of their responsibilities and ensure that you're not getting stretched out too thin. Sykes Student Union, Room 209,   3-4pm.

Thursday November 5th and Friday November 6th, 2009:
-The PASSHE Women's Consortium will be held at West Chester University this year! This conference is FREE to female student leaders, however; if you would like to eat the meals at the consortium they come to $10. November 15th, 2009:
-"The Rhino Living Retreat" What is Rhino Living you ask?  Rhino Living is a leadership philosophy centered around the idea of charging towards your goals and future, just as a rhino charges through the jungle.  Through this retreat, you will learn the laws of the jungle, how to set SMART goals for yourself and your organization, and ultimately learn that attitude is everything when it comes to achieving your goals.   
This event is free, but spaces are limited.  Spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so please respond as soon as possible if you would like to attend to cwarner@wcupa.edu .  The deadline to sign up is Friday, November 6 at 4:00p.m., though you are encouraged to sign-up before that date, as spaces are expected to fill up quickly.  We don't want you to miss this impacting leadership opportunity!  Why walk when you can charge?  The Rhino Living Retreat is taking place on Sunday, November 15 from 11:00a.m. to 2p.m. in the Sykes Ballrooms.

"Multicultural Student Leadership Conference"  On Saturday, November 21st, the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement, along with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and State Farm will be hosting WCU's 3rd Annual Multicultural Students Leadership Conference The theme for this year is "Leading With An Open Mind," and ALL students are welcomed to attend.  Stan Pearson will be featured as our keynote speaker (Check him out on youtube!).  There will also be a schedule of leadership and skill-building workshops throughout the day. Breakfast and lunch will be on us, and great prizes will be raffled off to those who attend. Sykes Student Union. "The Annual Spring Leadership Experience",Sponsored by State Farm has been scheduled. This one night event features nationally recgonized keynote speakers and breakout sessions to provide students with leadership development information. This experience continues to attract both new and seasoned leaders. State Farm has become a major supporter of this program and subsidizes much of the cost. This program is FREE to students. The panel will include Bill Hewitt from the history department, Mark Segal of the Philadelphia Gay News, and Stephen Henry Goldring, a playwright who lived in California at the time of both Milk's assassination and the infamous Briggs Initiative. Thursday November 5, 2009:
The Department of Languages and Cultures is sponsoring a lecture by author Phyllis Elena Mattson, who is a Kindertransport survivor from Vienna. A graduate from the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard University, Ms. Mattson has written a book about her experiences teaching in China and as a volunteer for the Peace Corps in Nepal. Thursday November 5, 2009:
“Women of NOLA: Voices of Resilience Before, During and After Katrina” Four New Orleans women who survived Hurricane Katrina will tell their stories in person in a constantly evolving multimedia presentation created by WCU social work professor Nadine Bean. Clint Denn's fine camerawork takes us on scenic, historic Russian waterways, along the Neva, across two of Europe's largest lakes, Lake Ladoga and Lake Onega, and don't the Volga-Baltic Water.
